Little Feat's Bill Payne and Iris

Bill Payne is a founding member of one of the best live bands I've ever in my life had the pleasure to see. To say Little Feat is a "tight" band is accurate. To say that they have inspired many other musicians is also right on target. Plus, they have a lot of cool friends who all love playing with them. Bill Payne and the other members of Feat are either busy with their own band, touring and recording, or with other great musicians like Bob Seger, Chris Robinson, Vince Gill, Dave Matthews, Jimmy Buffett, Bela Fleck, Mike Gordon and more. Little Feat's new album "Join the Band" features these artists along with the core band, and that's what the conversation is all about. Enjoy!

When the band traveled in John Lennon's Rolls Royce Phantom V, Bicknell was usually behind the wheel. He even inspired the song, "Baby You Can Drive My Car." Sadly Alf passed away on March 9th, 2004 at the age of 75. Here's the chat we had at Abbey Road Studios in September 1999.
