From Bruce Springsteen's website:
Bruce Springsteen's new album "Working on a Dream" has been set for a January 27 release on Columbia Records. "Working on a Dream" was recorded with the E Street Band and features twelve new Springsteen compositions plus two bonus tracks. It is the fourth collaboration between Springsteen and Brendan O'Brien, who produced and mixed the album.
Bruce Springsteen said, "Towards the end of recording 'Magic,' excited by the return to pop production sounds, I continued writing. When my friend producer Brendan O'Brien heard the new songs, he said, 'Let's keep going.' Over the course of the next year, that's just what we did, recording with the E Street Band during the breaks on last year's tour. I hope 'Working on a Dream' has caught the energy of the band fresh off the road from some of the most exciting shows we've ever done. All the songs were written quickly, we usually used one of our first few takes, and we all had a blast making this one from beginning to end."

As many of you know by now, Mitch Mitchell, the drummer for Jimi Hendrix, was found dead Wednesday (11/12/08) in his room at the Benson Hotel here in Portland. The local Medical Examiner reported that the 62 year-old died of natural causes.
There have been a few debates on whether Mitch Mitchell played Friday night (11/07/08) at the Schitzner during the Experience Hendrix Tribute Tour. I was there and didn't see him on stage, or did I. We all know he was never announced, but there was a drummer that took the kit in the middle, during one song, early in the show. Could that have been Mitch Mitchell? I don't know..one thing is certain, we would all like to say we saw Mitch Mitchell play on that Friday night!

Here’s what Robby Krieger, of the Doors, had to say about Mitch Mitchell’s condition last Friday night.

“He was not in good shape that last night. In fact he didn't even play that night. He was acting very strange all day. I didn't know what the hell it was. As far as I know he didn't have any illnesses. I knew he took some kind of pills for some condition and he was worried that he hadn't taken his pills, but that whole day he was just like not making sense what he was saying. He was like kind of stumbling around and I said to myself, 'Man, this guy should not be on tour right now. He should be in bed.”
Mitchell was the last surviving member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Hendrix died in 1970, and bassist Noel Redding died in 2003.

Eleanor Rigby!  Was she a real person?  Looks that way.....

There are three stories behind the song..... In the graveyard, at a church  at St. Peter's in Woolton, where Paul and John met in their youth.... there is a stone with the name Eleanor Rigby, who died on October 10, 1939. It is believed Paul might have recalled this name from his subconscious years later. However, it is also said that Paul got the name from two sources. The name of "Rigby," was taken from a shop front in Bristol, and the name "Eleanor," came from his former co-star Eleanor Bron, in the film Help!
Make that 4 stories......the lastest is here.....

McCartney has issued a statement saying, "Eleanor Rigby is a totally fictitious character that I made up. If someone wants to spend money buying a document to prove a fictitious character exists, that's fine with me."
