Just some funny things I saw around town the last few days that made me laugh my ass off.
First, as I was driving home last Friday evening, I-5 south in 5pm rush hour traffic, I saw a station wagon ahead of me in the slow lane carrying quite a large load up top. I wish I could have actually done this photo justice and caught it when we were going about 25 through the curves (fast for Friday rush hour!) and the wind was catching the load and blowing it up all willy-nilly.
I was in the fast lane, of course (but I wasn't speeding) and once I saw it and grabbed the camera out of my purse, I had to race along, changing lanes in an all-out hot pursuit of this car. I chased the damn thing all the way down past the 217 cutoff before I finally caught up with it. I apologize to whoever was driving the huge black Nissan Armada with the heavily tinted windows for cutting you off and then slamming on my brakes in front of you to catch this photo:
Now just picture that catching three feet of air. I was hoping it would fly off, land underneath a semi and catch fire, without anyone getting hurt, of course. That would have made my Friday afternoon commute so much more interesting. I'm neither an expert in physics nor moving but those two little tie straps are supposed to safely secure the gigantic California king mattress to the roof of your car on the freeway? Thank you for making me laugh, poor woman driving alone.
This made me laugh as well. Luckily, this is on the bumper of the car owned by my neighbor so I get to see it every morning.
I'm not exactly sure why I like it so much or why it makes me grin and giggle everytime I see it, but it sure does brighten up every morning.
Before I saw this bumper sticker, I saw one that said "Drum machines have no soul." I liked that too, but in another moment of brilliance on my part, I whipped out my flashy new camera only to have left the battery charging on my desk at work. In the words of Big Suke, sometimes I think I should kick my own ass.
By far, the most enjoyable picture I have seen the year is now taped to my computer monitor at work. I made Joe and our new intern, Lori, clean out our stinky, moldy storage unit and they unearthed numerous forgotten treasures, of which now I am the proud possessor. Several posters signed by Bobby Wier! Old KGON posters, stickers and goofy items. But this was my favorite.
LK walked by my desk and told me how "disgusting" it was. "Like, oh my God, that is sooo gross. Gag. That's, like, so sick. Like, oh my God." She's from LA.
I love it and it shall remain on my desk until I am canned.
Tell me that's not some funny shite right there! Good old Mark and Brian with a couple hundred extra pounds each. Bliss.
When they come here in September for their Mark and Brian Travelling Fun Show, or whatever the hell it's called, I'm going to have them autograph it. I'm laughing just thinking about it.
