Trivia Question: 12/11/2007

So I'm reading this amazing biography about one of the most revered, famous and talented musicians of the classic rock genre. I can't tell you who it's about or who wrote it (he's only written two books and one is definitely NOT about a classic rocker, although he will be in years to come. That's just my opinion) but if you can answer this simple question, I will send you one of this famous person's CD's in the mail.

Which classic rock superstar's father had six fingers on each hand?

This is an actual documented phenomenon and did affect unsaid person's father. I even googled it to make sure that my source was correct. I couldn't find any actual verifiable information (too lazy to dig deeper) but I did find a cool picture of what this guy might have looked like. (see above) And if this author was able to get his book published and was incorrect, then shame on him first and shame on me second for not trying harder to find the truth. Ever heard of James Frey? (Speaking of James Frey, I've read all his books and think he's awesome, even if he did lie a tiny bit. Old news, yes, but important when discussing fictionalized non-fiction.)

The best part is that when this poor child was born with his two extra digits, his mother, not wanting him to be teased his whole life, tied twine tightly around the extra extremities in hopes that they would fall off. They did. And then they grew back. No joke. Maybe my own mother ain't so bad after all.

Another phenomenon is people born with six toes on each foot. On a baby's foot, it's kinda cute. Man foot, I might barf. If you or someone you know is afflicted with either of these conditions, please avoid all temptation to clip them off with sharp scissors. Leave that to the professionals, like mommies who use twine.

So if you know who this mystery icon is, email me NOW, alinford@entercom.com, and I will send you a CD in the mail!
